Indeed. I think the fact that Daniel was prosecuted in the first place is bad enough. I find it disheartening that a copper ‘at street level’ seemed to have had a common-sense bypass, and further that the CPS didn’t tell Mr PC to ditch the case.

Jobbies like this do nobody any good. The only possible result of using one is to create a conflict between a cyclist and a following motorist which otherwise wouldn’t have happened. I’m willing to bet that the the council’s cycling officer (assuming Solihull has such a thing) didn’t ask for them.

Daniel Cadden’s case went to a re-trial and he was acquitted. The judge who originally convicted him was the same chap who acquitted a police driver who spanged around at 160mph. I get the feeling that Judge Morgan and Shropshire Police’s grasp of road traffic law needed a bit of brush up.

My mistake: you are, of course, correct. I really don’t know what came over me. I’ve re-evaluated my position and now I find The Count Arthur Radio Show to be a veritable font of innovative humour. It truly does carve a new path in the landscape of British comedy. Moreover, it’s clever use of hoary old routines, combined with lacklustre delivery, is surely intentional, and a parody of lesser material produced by other talent. People like Arthur Askey must be spinning in their graves, in green fugues of envy.

No, hang on a mo’ – I’m wrong again: the programme /is/ twaddle. And /you’re/ a twat ;)

Yup, we’re preparing a new generation of softies. Just the other day, I found myself trimming the fat from a few rashers of bacon, prior to making a roll for my daughter. In my day, the bacon roll would’ve also contained the pig’s ar$e, and most likely, half of its face. And the fat.
